Why does the "dump" command fail on an NFS mount point?
Issue
- While taking a backup from an NFS share, the
dumpcommand fails with the following error message:
dev/mapper/nfsvg-testlv: File not found by ext2_lookup while translating /NFS_mount
- The
dumpandrestoreutility does not work while taking backup from NFS shares. - I can't
dumpa directory from the NFS mount point to adumpsaveset.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (all versions)
dumpcommand- NFS mount point as
dumpsource.
