Applications using IPC (semaphores, shared memory, message queues) have problems after update to RHEL 7.2

Issue

  • Problems installing Oracle 12c on RHEL 7.2, database will not start with error:
    Sep 18 13:22:40 veritas5 systemd-logind: Failed to stat() POSIX shared memory
    segment ora_+ASM2_219086852_13: Permission denied
  • After performing system update to RHEL 7.2, IBM DB2 crashes every time a database administrative task cron session finishes.
  • After upgrading to RHEL 7.2, IBM DB2 crashes with the following errors:
    CALLED : OS, -, unspecified_system_function OSERR: EIDRM (43)
    ...

    ...
    MESSAGE : Unexpected OS error. This most likely means that resources have been
    torn down from underneath the prefetcher. Terminating the prefetcher
    to prevent infinite looping.
