Kernel panic during database shutdown: "kernel BUG at mm/filemap.c:129!"
Issue
- While shutting a database instance down, the system hits a kernel panic and dumps the following message:
kernel BUG at mm/filemap.c:129!
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 6
- Kernel version < kernel-2.6.32-279.11.1.el6
- Applications that use shared memory segments backed by huge pages (hugetlbfs)
