rsyslog reload サービスを実行しても何も起こりません

Issue

  • 以前は、service rsyslog reload を実行すると、rsyslog が設定ファイルを再読み込みしましたが、rsyslog バージョン 5 からは何も起こりません。
  • /etc/init.d/rsyslog を調べると、reload 機能により exit 3 が実行したことが分かりました。どうしてでしょうか?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
    • rsyslog-5.8.10-2.el6 以降
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
    • rsyslog5-5.8.12-4.el5 以降
