Issue

  • Debido a la importancia de mantener una precisión horaria estricta en muchos entornos, se debe asegurar que los cambios de horarios contemplados para Chile y Azerbaiján para los años 2016 y 2017 entren en efecto en el sistema operativo

Resolution

  • Actualizar el paquete rpm tzdata a la versión 2016c-1, el cual es parte de la errata RHEA-2016:0517-1

  • En el caso de Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, debido a encontrarse fuera de la etapa de Production Phase de su ciclo de vida activo, la disponibilidad del paquete está sujeta a la utilización de una o más suscripciones de Extended Life-Cycle Support

Root Cause

Los gobiernos de Chile y Azerbaiyán han anunciado un cambio de horario para el año 2016. Para ambos casos, se ha emitido un comunicado oficial el día 17 de marzo de 2016 para Azerbaiyán y el día 18 de marzo para Chile.

Red Hat brinda un paquete tzdata-2016c-1 actualizado que contiene los cambios necesarios para el cambio de horario de Azerbaiyán y de Chile de 2016 en adelante. No se registran cambios de horario para el 2016 ni años posteriores para Azerbaiyán, en Chile se reestableció el cambio de horario de verano.
