RHEL 7 Release Candidate: repositories are not ready?
I have installed RHEL 7RC and registered it during the installation. However yum command returns errors:
$ sudo yum repolist all
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager

I wonder if the repositories for the 7RC are not ready for use.
Responses
With RHEL 7RC Workstation, I don't seem to even get this far: no repos at all appear to be available.
Same experience here. What's interesting is when I installed RC in VM Ware, at one point, I was able to install extra packages. So either they went offline or something else is happening.
Tried the following..
1 input:
yum repolist all
output:
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager
repolist: 0
2 input:
subscription-manager list
output:
+-------------------------------------------+
Installed Product Status
+-------------------------------------------+
Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation
Product ID: 71
Version: 7.0
Arch: x86_64
Status: Subscribed
Status Details:
Starts: 12/29/2013
Ends: 12/29/2014
Do you think i should re-register?
3 input:
subscription-manager repos
output:
This system has no repositories available through subscriptions.
As a side note.. The workstation version of the installation seems to be missing the GUI version of subscription manager. I have to open a terminal and use the CLI version.
Working for me now, thanks.
What issue were you experiencing? The 0 repositories available or the broken url links the OP mentioned? Did the issue resolve itself, or did you apply any special steps such as re-registering, clearing any caches, etc?
I registered through the command line as follows:
subscription-manager register
username: xxxx
password: xxxx
The system has been registered with ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
subscription-manager attach --auto
Installed Product Current Status:
Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation
Status: Subscribed
Right, but for me, the issue is still not resolved.. Even though the system is registered and a subscription is attached, I do not have access to any repositories.. I guess my problem might be off-topic from the OP. But one other person also experience the 0 repositories available problem.
I deleted my system in the Customer Portal and re-added it and added a Workstation Subscription:
[karlgrose@krg3b ~]$ sudo subscription-manager list --consumed
+-------------------------------------------+

But still no repos:
[karlgrose@krg3b ~]$ sudo subscription-manager repos --list
This system has no repositories available through subscriptions.
[karlgrose@krg3b ~]$ sudo yum repolist
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager
repolist: 0
Greetings All,
Both the Customer Portal (via the Get-Beta page) and CDN (via yum) only have Server variants populated for the the Release Candidate.
The FTP site has all variants though as a workaround (see below). Sorry the inconvenience!
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/rhel/rc/7/
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/supplementary/rc/7/
To enable the ftp repo site for RC7 Workstation I used:
sudo yum-config-manager --add-repo ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/rhel/rc/7/Workstation/x86_64/os/
and added the gpgkey URL to the generated repo file:
[ftp.redhat.com_pub_redhat_rhel_rc_7_Workstation_x86_64_os_]
name=added from: ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/rhel/rc/7/Workstation/x86_64/os/
baseurl=ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/rhel/rc/7/Workstation/x86_64/os/
enabled=1
gpgkey=ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/rhel/rc/7/Workstation/x86_64/os/RPM-GPG-KEY-redhat-release
I have the same problem. Workstation load subscription registered enabled ... etc.
I tried to follow your steps above. I guess I do not understand the syntax well enough and got an error on the ftp site -
Problem repository: ftp.redhat.com_pub_redhat_rhel_rc_7_Workstation_x86_64_os_
It ends just like that. What needs to be added?
Thanks in advance.
