Init: No inittab file found RHEL 6.7

I'm not a linux expert and am new to this world.
Accidentally renamed the /etc file to /etc_old and system hung on RHEL 6.7.
Was trouble shooting the rescue mode to try mount the root system and rename file back but during this time, there was a blackout and system rebooted.
Then on Run Time level: entered 1 and it seems to hang and cursor just blinking.
How can I reboot the system and attempt the rescue mode again?

Appreciate any feedbacks to help fix this!
