Will yum/dnf update ever update a package and change its name?

Hi all,

Is it ever the case that a 'yum update' (or dnf on newer systems) would cause a package to be replaced with an updated version that had a different name? (i.e. not just a version and release update).

I'm working with a script that compares package versions before and after an update and I want to know if I will ever have to handle the situation where a package name changes. If they can change it complicates my list handling a little.
