  • rpmbuild is stuck with building kernel-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.src.rpm

    Hi

I am on RHEL8.6 and I am trying to rebuild kernel-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.src.rpm

I installed the source rpm and edited the kernel.spec to add a very simple kernel patch. Then I started building both source and binary rpm by "rpmbuild -ba kernel.spec"

This is a very time and space consuming process and now I am stuck with and the program seems just freeze there and moving forward anymore. If I quit, rpmbuild will do very thing all over again and be stuck with the same place. Any suggestions? Thanks

    /bin/sh '/home/mli/rpmbuild/BUILD/kernel-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8/linux-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.x86_64/tools/perf/trace/beauty/mmap_flags.sh' /home/mli/rpmbuild/BUILD/kernel-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8/linux-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.x86_64/tools/include/uapi/asm-generic /home/mli/rpmbuild/BUILD/kernel-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8/linux-4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.x86_64/tools/arch/x86/include/uapi/asm/ > trace/beauty/generated/mmap_flags_array.c
