SAMBA or DNS error?

Latest response

Hi,

Trying to configure a new server with RH 8.5, I have configured Samba and I can access from any computer through the IP address:

\192.168.xx.xx\shared

But not with the hostname:

\cae.xxxx\shared

At first I though it could be something related to the DNS, but I can ping from any computer to the hostname and resolves the IP adddress correctly:

C:>ping cae.xxxx

Haciendo ping a cae.xxxx [192.168.xx.xx] con 32 bytes de datos:
Respuesta desde 192.168.xx.xx: bytes=32 time<1m TTL=64
Respuesta desde 192.168.xx.xx: bytes=32 time<1m TTL=64
Respuesta desde 192.168.xx.xx: bytes=32 time<1m TTL=64
Respuesta desde 192.168.xx.xx: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64

I also can connect to the server via Telnet or SSH with the hostname. Firewall service from the server is disabled.
● firewalld.service - firewalld - dynamic firewall daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/firewalld.service; disabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:firewalld(1)

Any idea about this problem?
