HOWTO Migrate RHEV Management Portal from old server to new one

Latest response

Hi Everyone ;)

I'd like to know if you have any experience with migrating the RHEVM portal between servers.

We had to install and start using RHEV as soon as we got subscriptions and had to install portal on an old machine. Now we received new ones (2 months delayed). We need to migrate portal from one server to another. We are now having RHEV with ~150 VMs working.

What scenario would be most safe / risk free of loosing working evironment? Make it as a backup recovery?

Thanks for any Tips&Tricks you may have!

Does it involve changing FQDN or IP of the current RHEV-M? If yes, I would request you open a case with Support team.

If it does not involve changing FQDN or IP (Ie the new RHEV-M uses the same fqdn and IP of the old RHEV-M which requires shutting down old rhevm permanently), please refer https://access.redhat.com/site/solutions/339453
