Importing MS Hyper-V VM

Latest response

Hello,

we have many VMs based on Microsoft Hyper-V. As I know at the moment there is no way for a direct import. Is there anybody who has done this and can provide us a how-to?

Best regards,

Hi Stefan. Doesn't look like anyone has been able to help you out with this yet, but I've put word out on our social channels, and if you don't see any answers within a day or two I'll see if I can track down some resources to assist.

Have you tried using P2V?

I know it sounds strange, but I've imported some VirtualBox instances using the P2V method.

It may work out for you.

Check virt-p2v. See details at https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/V2V_Guide/chap-V2V_Guide-P2V_Migration_Converting_Physical_Machines_to_Virtual_Machines.html

Just consider your hyperv vm as a physical machine.
