What would cause a channel not to show up in the subscription list under administration?
I've done a satellite-sync of rhel-x86_64-server-sfs-6 and it shows up fine in the administration account. However, when I try to grant access to the channel to a different organization, the channel is NOT listed under admin->organization->subscriptions->channel. What determines what channels are used - and if it is the cert, how come I can do the initial sync?

Peter,
First thing to check is this KB article https://access.redhat.com/site/solutions/205313. The name of the channel is different under 6 than expected. Annoying.
After that, make sure the parent is visible and has entitlements. One way to verify the availability is in the admin org, search under Software Channel Entitlements and hit the Organizations tab for Large File System and see what that tab says about the assignment of entitlements to the org.

Peter,
Agreed, very odd choices. Honestly, since RHEL 6 there have been some odd disconnects between the choices of the labels and the channel names. There's another discussion about SKU (Product) to Channel mapping that I am waiting for the promised forthcoming response. Understanding what the programmatic name of the bundle of delivery mechanisms that make up what I bought is ... challenging from time to time.
Glad I was able to help.
DISCLAIMER: this is COMPLETE speculation on my part.
Regarding why you could sync to a channel, but not have access to it on your satellite:
I assume you can sync the channel as soon as Red Hat processes the request for that subscription. Your own Satellite does not know about the new subscription(s) until you create a new certificate which has the new subs attached.
So - it would seem odd that you could not allow other Orgs access, but I would update your cert and see if that helps.
