  • Default /etc/fstab settings for / partition

    Posted on

    In most of the reading I'm doing I'm setting that the / partition should be set to be checked upon boot. Stuff like :: The root filesystem should be set to 1 and any others you want to be checked assigned after that. :: But the default fstab entries I'm setting on the redhat 8 boxes I'm setting up are
    UUID=8bb7b802-b88e-4a11-807a-a43921afce26 / xfs defaults 0 0
    Set not to be checked at start up. Is there some reason it is not set to be check upon boot?

    Thanks,
    Matt
