NVIDIA drivers and EX-FAT

Latest response

Hello,
I am wondering about two things for now after installing RHEL 8

  1. How to install nvidia drivers ?
  2. How to enable ex-fat support for some drives ?

Hello Rachit ( ... or Dave ? ... ),

Welcome to our community ! :)

Asking the question about the NVIDIA drivers tells me that you are quite new to Linux, so I'm going to provide you with the most
easy way to achieve what you want. First (for both requests) you will have to add third party repositories to the software sources.

Run these commands :

sudo subscription-manager repos --enable codeready-builder-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms

sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-8.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/rpmfusion-free-release-8.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/el/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-8.noarch.rpm

Install the exfat drivers :

sudo dnf upgrade
sudo dnf install exfat-utils fuse-exfat

Install the NVIDIA divers :

sudo dnf install kernel-devel kernel-headers
sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-kmodsrc xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs

Install optional packages :

sudo dnf install nvidia-persistenced nvidia-settings
sudo dnf install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-libs
