I know there are nftables and firewalld but I am trying to find out if anyone tried running Iptables it on 8. The old iptables netfilter framework is avoided wherever possible. The RHEL 8.0 Release Notes explain it a bit, search text for "iptables". For future-proofing, you might wish to make the move to nftables now. A tool to convert iptables rules to nftables rules is provided.
