For the Redhat6.2 version of the kernel to add RAID driver problem
There is a technical problem I want to consult.
In version of Redhat5.5, adding Raid card drivers needs Unzip the initrd.img in Redhat5.5 kernel, In the unzip directory there are the following file: Modinfo, modules.alias, modules.cgz, modules.dep, pci.ids, pcitable etc.. And unzip the Raid card drive, put the corresponding file information into the unzip Redhat kernel file, and then compress the file into initrd.img. At this time the kernel file can identify the Raid card.
But after unzip the kernel file initrd.img in Redhat6.2 version, there have another more Bin files compared to Redhat5.5. In this situation, using the emthod of adding Raid card drivers of V5.5 is unsuccessful.
I would like to consult Redhat6.2 version of the kernel should how to add Raid card drivers?
Please support me,thanks!

Hello!
The process to add additional drivers to the RHEL initramfs changed in RHEL 6. Instead of mkinitrd (and the processes around it), dracut should be used.
The process is outlined in How do I create initramfs using dracut on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6?.
Another possible method to remedy your issue is to provide the driver-disk option to a kickstart file. This is outlined in How to host driver disk image to http location and provide it to Anaconda installer during Kickstart process of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5/6?
A very thorough walkthrough of updating/adding drivers during installation is also found in the RHEL 6 Installation Guide in Chapter 6.2, with Chapter 6.2.3 providing information about updating or changing the intiramfs and Chapter 6.3 going on to provide other methods.
I hope that helps.
