Hello, assuming you have space in your volume group, you can extend the lv (lvextend), then extend the filesystem (resize2fs).

If you need more help, please post the output of:

  pvs
  vgs
  lvs |grep var
  du -sh /var/* |sort -h |tail -10
  grep var /proc/mounts

Along with what Marcus West posted, please post the output of lsblk command. Are you using XFS by chance? (that would be the default for RHEL 7, but some go out of their way to use something else, just curious)

Examine this Red Hat solution https://access.redhat.com/solutions/24770, and note the lvextend command with the use of -r

man lvextend
# excerpt of man page for lvextend
       -r --resizefs
Resize underlying filesystem together with the LV using fsadm(8).
