RHEL 7.5 wakes up from sleep with blank screen

I have RHEL desktop 7.5 installed on my HP Probook 450. when i close the lid on my laptop , the OS goes to sleep, but when i open the lid and press the power button, only the keyboard LED's and power button light up, but the Screen remains black.

i have to hard reboot (press power button for 5 Seconds). please help. what could be the issue.

Hey Promise,
Try to solve doing this:
Create the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-modesetting.conf with the content below and do a reboot.

Section "Device"
   Identifier "Intel Graphics"
   Driver "modesetting"
   Option "AccelMethod" "none"
EndSection

Let us know if it solves the problem, so more people can benefit from this. I was experiencing the same issue and now it's working fine!

Hello, does it works with a Thinkpad T450? I do have the same issue with my laptop after updating to RHEL 7.5

I had the same problem yes it worked for me I asked my coworker to test it, but it seems this is the resolution to the issue, as now I get back the screen
