Any good solution to use massive storage device for nfs server ?

Latest response

Hello.

I would like get opinion from community for my use case.

We have 3 servers which has 40 TB (RAID 1+0) of block device attached to each servers . We now want to use these 3 servers as back up and use nfs-server for other servers to access.

If possible , we want to use total of 120 TB as distributed file system . I thought that GFS could be a solution here but it seems that it only supports up to 100 TiB .

What are the file and file system size limitations for Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

Should I consider using ceph storage or is there any other solutions which I can use ?

Hello,

Ceph storage doesn't provide NFS functionality. If you want to provide a NFS storage like NAS. The best fit solution to your use case seems to be Gluster. Please be noticed that gluster would fit to particular use cases. The KCS0 describes what use case or workload fit to Gluster.
