RHEL 7 Desktop won't install cinnamon

Latest response

Hello,

I have been having an issue trying to install Cinnamon on my RHEL 7.4 desktop system. I keep getting

"Error: Package: cinnamon-3.6.7-3.el7.x86_64 (epel)
Requires: pexpect
"
every time I try to install it via "sudo yum install cinnamon"

I've enabled the following repos: epel/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-extras-rpms/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-fastrack-rpms/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-optional-rpms/7Client/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-rh-common-rpms/7Client/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-rhn-tools-rpms/7Client/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-rpms/7Client/x86_64, rhel-7-desktop-supplementary-rpms/7Client/x86_64.
I've also installed python, and set 'notify_only=0' in /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/search-disabled-repos.conf, and even that results in the same error. At this point I'm really not sure what I'm messing up to continue to cause this error.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

pexpect is in the Server and Workstation channels, but not the Desktop channel: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/pexpect/2.3-11.el7/noarch/fd431d51/package

If you can download the package at that URL then do so. Otherwise, you'll need to buy a Server/Workstation entitlement to get a supported package, or use the CentOS package.

Thank you! That worked. I didn't even know I could get packages straight form the download section, will file that in my mind for later.
