6.2.14 katello-backup - new option

Latest response

I have katello-backup scripted to do a full backup once a week and incremental every day except on the full backup. This morning the incremental backup failed due to the interaction question:

WARNING: This script will stop your services. Do you want to proceed(y/n)?

You now have to add in the option if you have backups scripted to a -y or --assumeyes

-y, --assumeyes Bypass interaction by answering yes

I just upgraded to 6.2.14 yesterday from 6.2.13, so this is a new option and should be noted in the event you are automating your backups.

This change in behaviour is not yet documented in the Red Hat Satellite 6.2 Server Administration Guide, but request to do so has been made [1] and work is in progress.

Gary,

Thanks again for raising this issue. The Bugzilla ticket noted earlier has now been completed, and the associated documentation updated on the Customer Portal. We have added note of the "--assumeyes" parameter in the Satellite 6.2 "Server Administration Guide"'s backup examples. The same has been done in the Satellite 6.3 "Administering Red Hat Satellite" guide. For those upgrading to Satellite 6.3, we have also added a step to the upgrade procedure, advising that the "--assumeyes" option needs to be added to existing backup scripts.
