RHEL 7.4 (latest) on Lenovo ThinkPad p71

Hi folks,

I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad p71 which was delivered last night.

I've been having issues installing the latest RHEL - 7.4 on there. When trying to boot the installation media I get a kernel panic. See here: https://i.imgur.com/CeljsPS.jpg

I've heard of folks installing RHEL successfully on the Thinkpad p71 series, so I was (perhaps naively) expecting a smooth installation.

For what it's worth - I get the same failure with Ubuntu and Linux Mint. They're vastly different distributions, being Debian based, but they seem to have the same problem so perhaps it is an issue with the kernel itself. I figured that was worth mentioning.

Have any of you successfully installed RHEL on a Thinkpad p71?
