Deleting a Content View

Latest response

I get the following error when trying to delete a content view.

Cannot delete 'RHEL6_Servers' due to associated environments: Library, Testing, Production.

How do I delete this content view?

No, I am using 6.2. Will break anything if i run the command on 6.2?

All you're doing in the command is removing the content view from a lifecycle environments and then deleting the content view. If you have hosts that are associated with this content view you'll want to associate them with a new content view before deleting it.

So you are saying that is will not break anything since it was written for version 6.1 and I am on version 6.2?

That is correct. Feel free to read up on content views and the hammer cli if that would make you more comfortable.

Thanks for the link. I was kind of hoping the web GUI would actually work for this.

You should be able to accomplish this through the Web UI as well by removing the published versions of the content view.

Thanks that worked.
