subscription-manager for RHEL 5.6
Hello...
I have a handful of RHEL 5.6 machines that (for whatever reason) were not originally registered using rhn_register. I did not realize this until a couple of weeks ago.
Now that RHN Classic has been retired, I am unable to get these systems registered. I can't migrate them from RHN Classic -> subscription manager because they aren't in RHN Classic, and I can't download the subscription manager repos because they're not registered.
I have a support case open, but I thought this might be a quicker path to resolution. HOpefully, somebody has come across this issue before! A google and knowledgebase search didn't help me much.
So frustrating - help!

I'm not sure if RHEL5.6 could be migrated, because as per the knowledge base it says that minimum of RHEL5.7 and above could be migrated https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Subscription_Management/1/html-single/MigratingRHN/index.html#rhn-migrate-classic
I had the same issue today. The only way is to update at least to version 5.7. I've just updated to 5.8 and it's working fine.
Hmm... I guess I must restrain my last comment... The needed packages to register a system can be installed and the registration process works. BUT... you cannot subscribe to any pool. See: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/node/129003 According to this, one should update to the latest version of a release. What a pity!
