How to enter VM BIOS mode and configure watchdog timer during VM bootup

Latest response

Hello everyone,
I want to configure watchdog timer from BIOS mode while creating new VM. Is it possible or not? If possible please let me know the steps.

Thanks

Not aware of a method for doing this. What are you trying to achieve?

The watchdog timer can no longer be reset, so the watchdog counter reaches zero after a short period of time. When the watchdog counter reaches zero, the action specified in the Watchdog Action drop-down menu for that virtual machine is performed.

My basic question:

-> If OS hung on Virtual VM while booting, who will take care or reboot VM in this scenario?

Our assumption is that, there is no such mechanism in RHV and trying to achieve using watchdog timer mechanism.

  1. Is watchdog timer configurable or not?

  2. I am building windriver linux kernal for my hp dl360 server, So trying to add watchdog package to windriver with configured watchdog timer parameter (if poosible) and create new build.

Thanks in Advance!!!
