RHLS LAB hours consumption
Doing the RH403 Satellite course, I have already spent at least 4 1/2 in one chapter, I am hoping that this is really at max 5 hours, not per host (7 hosts *5) 35 hours?!
Reason is that, it takes a long time to bring up the VM and shut them down, so I usually start them as soon as I hit reading, it 'd be good if the lab hours are part of the progress report especially when one need to redo the lab at least a couple of times before an exam.

Walid,
The limits for lab time are: No more than 80 hours per course No more than 400 hours per year
In the case of the satellite class if one machine is running, the lab time is being consumed, but if all the systems are running, the same amount of lab time is being consumed. We treat the group of machines as a single 'lab', so if one or all of the machines in a lab are running, it's consuming towards that 80 hour per course limit, and also toward your 400 hour overall subscription (per year) limit.
We're working on exposing lab usage (and limits) in both reporting and the lab user interface, the work should be completed "soon".

Was there a “Lab Activity Report” feature setup for RHLS-Standard? Is so, how do I access it?
~Shannon
For RHLS-Standard lab usage is reported individually at the class-level under the Online Lab tab. RHLS-Standard has it's own reporting subsystem, which does not include lab consumption data, however, you can request an amalgamated report of your Training TSS. This person should have contacted you when you started your subscription.

Here's a textualized example from one of my accounts. The columns are Course, Hours, and Accessed. Course is the class that this lab is assigned to. Hours is the number of lab hours spent on this course. Accessed is the last time the lab was accessed in this course.
Course Hours Accessed Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) 3 10/03/2016 Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) 3 10/03/2016 Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) 3 10/03/2016 Red Hat OpenStack Administration II (cl210-8.0) 2 12/03/2016 Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) 1 06/03/2016 Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) 1 06/03/2016 Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) 1 10/03/2016
Towards the bottom, you can see an example of one of the display issues I was describing. Red Hat System Administration I (rh124-7) should only be listed once in the report with an hours amount of 11 and a last accessed time of 10/03/2016. The reason that it is listed multiple times is because I've deleted and re-provisioned the entire lab environment. From a back-end data perspective, each of those re-provisions is viewed as a different "lab" which at one time was affiliated with this course. But you all don't care about that, only the last time you used a lab (any lab) for this course and your combined lab hours usage.
Well, maybe Rob Verduijn wants the level of detail currently provided, but I don't, so I'm changing it ;-) Also, we double-expose this report a couple of other places where the lack of a coalesced data associated with a class is problematic. The overriding development mentality I use is "there can be only one thing!" so we're going to have one thing that address most, if not everyone's data consumption needs.
Is the system aware of learning subscription renewals ? ie it knows to ignore the hours from the previous expired subscription.
Rob,
The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that we'll be adding some UI elements in Beta to provide some insight into lab usage shortly. The tricky part is that we want to keep the record of your consumption of labs (as it is a metric that shows you've done some hands-on work with the class), but don't want to count a previous year's consumption against your current year's limit. We're going to start these beta elements in the Basic UI at the subscription level, but the beta course-specific reporting will be available in both standard and basic.

I am able to see my consumption.Login to subscription-> Main page -> Reports ->lab activity. One thing strange i see is if use lab for 24 min it counts as one hour. For ex when i started my day i saw lab was 16 hours consumption but i used lab for 24 min and stopped it ,now it shows 17 hours consumed? Why does it show one full hour for just 24 min of usage.
In short. Yes.
Lab environments are billed hourly, so if you run your lab for 24 minutes, I'm billed for an hour. As a result, an hour is consequently deducted from your product quota.
We've moved the timer adjustment to only work in 1 hour increments to try and make this idea of charged by the hour, more apparent.
