Import domain already exist error

Latest response

Hi all,

I have two separate rhev-h 6.6, which is connected to single RHEV-M 3.4, I have created export_domain in node1 by using rhevm and taken export for all vms running in the same node. I need to import the vms in node2. To do this, I am trying to create import_domain by using the same nfs shared storage, which is configured for export_domain for node1. when I try to do that I am getting the error like import domain already exist. Any one can suggest me to do further.

Hi,

The export domain you created is a global attribute of your single RHEVM and that is why you cannot recreate it. Assuming your hosts are in separate virtual datacenters/clusters, keep the export domain attached after the export and then import the vms in the other virtual datacenter/cluster.

Hi Siem,

I have completed all the vms export in export_domain which is now connected in node1. I need to import the vms in another node2 which is differentct datacenter/clusters. How to connect this in node2

Hi Satish,

Your node2 uses a separate storage domain. Attach the export domain and import the VM. In the popup window you have to select the storage domain to import the VM to. Select the storage domain used by node2.

Hi Siem,

In the popup window of export_domain, i am getting node1 details only. How can i pull out node 2 in this export_domain.

Hi Satish,

Could you please indicate which datacenters and clusters are configured in your RHEVM? In which of these are node1 and node2 configured?
