cannot install RHEL 6 due to missing or corrupt file!
I'm trying to install RHEL 6 via USB. After selecting Desktop environment I get the following message: udev-147.2.63.el6.i686.rpm cannot be opened. This is due to a missing file, a corrupt package or corrupt media. Please verify your installation source. Needless to say, I have checked sha256, redownloaded RHEL 6, switched to a different USB -- went out and bought a new USB, etc., etc... No luck... Any help would be appreciated folks. Thank you.

I had this as a false-positive in my case. The last time I experienced this issue, the problem was not actually a missing or corrupt file, but a bad hard disk, and when it attempted to write to the bad sector, it failed. When it failed, it gave a false complaint of a corrupt or missing file. However, I replaced the hard drive, and it worked fine afterwards. Now I'm not there in your environment, so while this was the case, in my case, it may not be so in yours. Test and check. Since you had the same issue across two different USB sticks, perhaps it is the hard drive. In my case, when I replaced it, I no longer received the error you speak of. Your mileage may vary.
However, if needed, test the installation disk/usb install flash-drive you are using on an entirely different system and see how it goes.
Let us know how it goes.
