Storage domain using SAS

Latest response

Hi,

We'll plan to use rhev on 2 hosts coupled with a SAS storage tier DELL MD3420 connected by HBAs.

I saw some references in the RHEV 3.5 Technical guide on SAS for use as storage domain (cf. chapter 2. Storage):

File based storage and block based storage can be used to create storage domains. Storage
domains are implemented using the Network File System (NFS) or Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP).
FCP includes storage accessed using iSCSI, FCoE, and SAS.

I know RHEV-M doesn't have functions to direct manage SAS LUN's as it could do with ISCSI, but what about the other functionnalities
on load balancing, snapshots ...

Anyone has experimented those SAS storage domains ?

Does RHEV-H/RHEV-M confirm SAS domain storage as FCP ?

regards,
