PyYAML for RHEL7 Desktop

Latest response

According to the package list online for PyYAML, this package should be in the RHEL7 repos, but I am unable to install or even search it there. I am able to manually download from the RHEL 7 package list on the website -- just not through yum. Now, I did hop onto onbe of my RHEL Atomic nodes and was able to see that RHEL 7 Server does have it in the RHEL7 stock repo. However none of my Desktop installs can see it.

I have done for the sake of sanity, a 'yum clean all' and then a 'yum makecache', followed by a 'yum info pyyaml'. Nothing. The 'yum info pyyaml' on the RHEL7 server instances does find a match.

Any help in what I may have done wrong or am thinking wrong?

Thanks much,
Andrew.

Hello Andrew,

The PyYAML packages are only available for the Server and Workstation variant.

Its actually found in the RHEL 7 Desktop Optional Beta repo.

Interesting. I'm checking with release engineering if this is intentional.

Any word on this one as of yet?

Release Engineering has acknowledged the issue, but the package is yet to be deleted from the repo. I'll ping my ticket.
