Issues with Chrome and Customer Portal

Latest response

I've been having issues over the past two or so months with the Portal when using Chrome. I get blank pages when navigating, oddly cached text boxes in the case management system and discussion system with extremely long post times (an hour at one point).

Firefox doesn't have any issues, and I can't seem to find anyone or any notes on Chrome. Is anyone else having issues using Chrome with the Portal?

Hi Matt, we have some ongoing problems with the portal that we are addressing as a matter of priority. Please see Update on Recent Customer Portal Outage Issues for the statement.

We have nothing to suggest that this is a browser dependent issue and what you have experienced may just be unfortunate timing with the browser you have in use at the time the problem occurred, as the symptoms you describe are identical to the problem we are investigating.

If you still see this with Chrome after we have resolved the issue, please either ping me directly or followup on this thread.

I'm sorry for the sub-optimal experience, but expect it will be resolved soon.

Best regards,
Mark

I agree with what Mark says. I did initially find it suspect that you see this problem only in Chrome but consider that if Chrome is your default browser, you spend most of your time in it. Thus, you'd see the issue there without fail. Once you switch over to Fx, the problem has been remedied. I also would like to hear if you still have this kind of issue once we've resolved this for good. Investigation is ongoing and we apologize for the continued outages.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks for reporting this, Matt. As Mark said, your issues may well be associated with the recent Portal issues we've been having and if that's the case they should be resolved soon. If you do continue to experience problems, screenshots of any page rendering oddities and approx timestamps on posting delays will help our devs investigate in detail.

Gents,

Thanks for the updates, I've been watching the various updates and fixes and will keep doing so.

Chris, having Firefox as a backup is helpful for working with cases, so while I'm not willing to switch back ( yet ;) I've got a workaround.

David, I thought about a screenshot but usually I get completely blank pages ;). One of the interesting things I've seen in general with Chrome is when it decides not to render a page, it doesn't render at all.

Thanks again for the quick responses.
