Converter RTF to PDF

Latest response

Hi, I should convert rtf files to pdf. TED I tried but I can not run because the following error "Ted: error while loading shared libraries: libpcre.so.3: can not open shared object file: No such file or directory".
How can I fix the problem? Are there any workarounds to Ted?

Thank you

All,

I have Ted working on RHEL 6 and RHEL 7.
@Pecchia: from which source did you download the Ted rpm?

http://www.nllgg.nl/Ted/ for example only distributes a Fedora 17 rpm.
I downloaded it, and the installation failed too.

I then downloaded the src.rpm and did a rpmbuild and then the new rpm installed fine.

Hope this helps you too.

I will try to get in touch with Mark de Does to add my rpm's to official website.

Kind regards,

Jan Gerrit Kootstra

Thanks Jan,

I see now TED is a different utility, should have checked it...

If there's a chance of finding that file, do a "yum provides" against that file (with the path)... I did a search and could not find anything...

Hi Remele,

It is provided by Mark de Does, it is on http://www.nllgg.nl/Ted/ not part of a RHEL distribution.

I tried a rpmbuild on RHEL 5 it failed due to lack of epel 5 support in my RH Satellite, so I cannot install libpaper-devel

All 64 bits, for I do not have a i686 KVM guest installed. Limit by the memory size of my virtual RH Satellite.

Kind regards,

Jan Gerrit Kootstra

Will have to look into it,
Thanks Jan

for the time being
http://download.kootstra.org.uk/Ted-RHEL/
will contain RHEL6 and RHEL7 package for x86_64

Too cool!

This URL can not be downloaded in Broken Link
http://download.kootstra.org.uk/Ted-RHEL/ted-2.23-1.1.el6.x86_64.rpm
Or TED is not available in RHEL6.5?
