How do I set up a simple Sendmail server for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5?

Sendmail is part of the base install and should be fully functional. However, there are a few changes to be made to send and receive mail from outside sources. Begin by changing into the /etc/mail/ directory.
cd /etc/mail
Edit the file sendmail.mc and place dnl # in front of the loopback line. It will look as follows:
