How can I increase the ip_conntrack_max setting?

Note that the ip_conntrack_max entry will only be present if you have a firewall running and the firewall uses the ip_conntrack kernel module. If you are not running the firewall or have a firewall that does not utilise the ip_conntrack module, there is no need to set the ip_conntrack_max value, and the value will be missing from the /proc/sys psuedo filesystem interface.
