Removal of log in with email functionality from sso.redhat.com
Removal of log in with email
Red Hat's authentication platform (sso.redhat.com) supported being able to authenticate using the username (aka login ID) or the email address associated with your user account. On July 7th 2025, this capability was removed.
Users who traditionally used email to start the authentication flow may not be aware of their login ID (username). These users would be unable to log in as username is required, along with the correct PW.
If your login ID (username) is the same as the email on your account, no action is required and you can continue to log in the same way you always have. If your username is something different than this, you must use your username to log in.
Forgot Login page
To support users who may be unaware of their login ID (username), Red Hat has added support for the ability to recover it through the Forgot Login page. Users may submit an email address and any login ids associated with that email address, along with last login dates for each, will be emailed to them.
Improved user experience
Some users who login using email address experience confusion with multiple accounts which are associated with the same email address. Many accidentally log into the “wrong” account and are confused when they don’t have the subscriptions or access they expect. Over time, this change will help alleviate many of these issues by forcing users to log into a single explicit account. User accounts and login IDs are 1:1, as login ids are unique.
