• Systems with Intel Sierra Forest processors
• Intel Quick Assist Technology (QAT) firmware

Issue

• Does RHEL 9 have inbox support for Intel QAT firmware on systems having Intel Sierra Forest processors?

Resolution

At this time, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 (RHEL 9) does not have inbox support for Intel Quick Assist Technology (QAT) firmware when running on systems having Intel Sierra Forest processors. Support for this is targeted for a future release of RHEL 9. This Knowledge Article will receive updates as appropriate.

Customers wishing to use QAT on systems having Intel Sierra Forest processors will need to refer to the Intel QATLib Install Guide for guidance on enabling the driver. Be aware that using the QAT driver out of box falls under the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Third Party Software Support Policy
