I have Network Information Services (NIS) configured to automount home directories on login, but I am still unable to log in through GNOME's graphical login manager. Why?

Symptom:

When logging in through GNOME's graphical login manager it displays the error about not being able to load preferences from /home/

<nisuser>

due to the user's home directory not being automounted.
Solution:

In a text editor open /etc/nssw...
