Platform Certification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Today's business problems require solutions that consist of a datacenter with multiple vendors' products. Red Hat certification provides customers not only choice, but also the competitive advantage and confidence that the solutions have been thoroughly tested and will be fully supported by the vendors who provide them.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is certified to run on a wide variety of platforms including directly on physical hardware, as virtual machines on certified hypervisors, and on public clouds. Certification means that Red Hat and the platform provider have thoroughly tested the combined solution and that both parties stand behind it with joint problem escalation and resolution.
Our certification criteria hinges on wide market adoption of a technology. Furthermore, the technology comes from a vendor who has an engineering and support infrastructure that can work with us on joint technology development, integration, and support over the lifecycle of the solution. We currently work with both Microsoft and VMware to certify Red Hat Enterprise Linux on their virtualization platforms.

Running Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Uncertified Platforms
When customers choose to deploy in an uncertified solution or configuration, Red Hat's Global Support Services team will work with the customer to diagnose the root cause of the issue. If the issue exists entirely within Red Hat's products, then the customer will receive the full support to which they are entitled. If the issue is the result of an non-certified hardware or software component, Red Hat will direct the customer to the relevant provider for support.
