Comments
This is not a comment about the video content but rather about the video itself. It is very difficult to read the text in the screencast. I don't know whether the original screencast was captured at the native resolution and subsequently reduced in resolution, but the result causes a lot of strain.
Hi. Thanks for checking out our video content! Did you try making the video full-screen? At full resolution you should easily be able to read everything on screen. The icon for full screen is in the bottom right of the video frame. You can also use CTRL + F. Hope that helps!
Hi Sean, Thanks for the CTRL+F tip. It works, but then I'm not able to view any other windows, like additional slide materials or an editor to make my own notes.
It would be much better if these videos were readable at their native size or were resizeable. They are really difficult to work with as they are.
John, understood. We do use a 'zoom' technique on videos with a lot of on-screen data, to help make things readable - this video did not include that feature.
It's helpful for us to know how people consume videos (ie keeping multiple windows on screen), so we'll make sure that all video content is fully readable from SD/HD resolutions. Videos cannot currently be resized beyond their two resolutions.
Thanks for the feedback!
I looked for a full-screen button in the video player but I don't see one. Ctrl-F does work - thanks. It is readable that way but still fuzzy. I've heard there are codecs that work better for technical screencasts (much like GIF is much better than JPEG for comic-style drawings and text). I wanted to do my own screencasts but never got to the point of actually doing it and comparing codecs.
I can't see any text from this video, so just useless :-(
Hi Dmitry,
There is currently an issue with the Portal on certain browsers like Chrome where the fullscreen button is not displaying properly. Using CTRL + F will put you in fullscreen mode and you should easily be able to see all the text on the video.
thank you!
now I can watch it.
video quality is very low anyway though :-(
