This is a great video, thanks!
Good video.. wish it could be a little more clearer or maybe a PDF doc? :)
Hi Louis,
Could you be a bit more specific? What was unclear for you? We can always supplement our material or use comments to provide additional context...
Can you explain in more detail what benefit creating the one time password provides, especially if it needs to be requested and added to the kickstart manually?
If you need to fully automate domain joins as part of a kickstart, you still need to connect (manually) as administrator to request the one time password, so automating this you will still need to store the password in the kickstart or in a service that makes the API call for one time password request.
How do Red Hat suggest RHEL 7 be joined in an automated way in a cloud environment where dynamic host creation occurs regularly? (and manual steps are out of the question) Should an orchestration tool external to the kickstart manage the one time request and feed that to the kickstart file?
Also, to clarify, the user adding a server to a domain (the 'traditional' way) doesn't need to be an administrator, the user only needs limited permissions to create computer objects and this can (should) be the only permission they have. What permission do you need to request/generate a one time password?
The AD integration in RHEL7 is awesome. The
adcliandrealmutilities, fantastic. The GnomeEnterprise Login(Kerberos) found in both "Online Accounts" settings and "User Login" Options--brilliant. Great job Red Hat. I really need some instruction on how to install/config CAC / PIV smart card authentication on RHEL 7...
