HP-UX & Solaris clients fail to mount Red Hat Storage volumes over NFS

Issue

HP-UX NFS clients reports the following error message while we are trying to mount the following NFS volume exported by RHS infrastructure:

some_server:/>mount -F nfs nfsserver:/testexport/export1 /mnt/export1
nfs mount: get_fh: nfsserver:: RPC: Program not registered
nfs mount: get_fh: nfsserver:: RPC: Program not registered
nfs mount: retry: retrying(1) for: /home/temporal after 5 seconds
nfs mount: retry: giving up on: /home/temporal

Environment

  • Red Hat Storage Server (RHS) 2.1
  • NFS clients that require the MOUNT protocol to go over UDP
