How to use Netcat to transfer files between servers?

This is a useful test if problems are being encountered using scp or one of the other commands that encrypts data.

If file transfers are failing when sending large files using ssh/openssh, you can troubleshoot this issue by issuing file transfers, such as nc or ftp that can transfer files without encryption.
