Setuid/suid handled processes (rpcbind, ns-slapd and others) do not generate a core dump file after a crash

Issue

  • The rpcbind service crashed but no core was generated
  • The slapd service crashed but no core was generated as well
  • ns-slapd on a Red Hat Directory Server or a Red Hat Identity Management server crashes but this event is not picked up by abrt
  • One of the following errors is logged in /var/log/messages:
kernel: rpcbind[xxxx] general protection ip:7fa27957df72 sp:7fff5983adf0 error:0 in libc-2.12.so[7fa279508000+18a000]

Or

kernel: ns-slapd[xxxxx]: segfault at 2929296d6f5b ip 0000003af3a7b53c sp 00007ff345feaa08 error 4 in libc-2.12.so[3af3a00000+18a000]
