LUKS with FIPS enabled doesn't work anymore in RHEL6

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • This was working in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 during installation using kickstart.
  • When the pv is encrypted, which is going to be used for LV with LUKS password, then post installation, it doesn't accept the correct password and then results in kernel panic.
  • Kernel panic is because the encrypted pv has not decrypted causing no root filesystem readable.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • LUKS with FIPS
