The amount of swap chosen by "swap --recommend" in a kickstart file is not in line with product documentation
Issue
-
When using the kickstart option
swap --recommendedon RHEL6.1 on a system with large amounts of memory, a swap space is created of size 2GB + amount of RAM -
Red Hat specifies in the Recommended Partitioning Scheme section of the Installation Guide to use a different setup, as does the Solution "If I add several hundred GB of RAM to a system, do I really need several hundred GB of swap space for RHEL?". Why the difference?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
