How do I limit the number of CPUs activated in Red Hat Enterprise Linux ?
Issue
- Limit number of CPUs available in a RHEL system
- We would like to limit the number of CPU a system can get access to because of ISVs core-licensing. According to the information cpu-hotplug from kernel documentation (http://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/cpu-hotplug.txt) seems that it is harmless. Can you please confirm this mechanism can be used on RHEL systems without problems?
