Disk quota for filesystems created over iSCSI SAN devices does not get enabled at the time of booting

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After reboot quotas were turned on successfully only for the filesystem on lvm volume /dev/mapper/vg1-lv1 which is created on local disks. The disk quotas were not turned on for other lvm volume /dev/mapper/vg2-lv2 which was created over iSCSI SAN devices. Is this expected behavior?

    [root@localhost ~]# quotaon -ap
group quota on /export2 (/dev/mapper/vg2-lv2) is off
user quota on /export2 (/dev/mapper/vg2-lv2) is off
group quota on /export1 (/dev/mapper/vg1-lv1) is off
user quota on /export1 (/dev/mapper/vg1-lv1) is on

  • How to automatically turn on disk quota for the filesystems created over iSCSI devices?

  • Quota for iSCSI backed lvm does not get activated automatically after reboot.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7
  • Filesystem on iSCSI devices.
