Need to hotplug a HP smartarray LD drive and to be seen on the system

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Existing raid array (raid0) created on P420i got failed due to an issue with physical disk.
  • Replaced disk and rebuilt raid-array at controller using hp provided hpacucli utility and it is showing as good at controller
  • But not visible / not able to scan at system level.
  • lsscsi -g output shows an /dev/sgN device but not sdN (scsi disk) device:
[3:0:0:0] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sda /dev/sg2
[3:0:0:1] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sdb /dev/sg3
[3:0:0:2] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sdc /dev/sg4
[3:0:0:3] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sdd /dev/sg5
[3:0:0:4] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sde /dev/sg6
[3:0:0:5] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sdf /dev/sg7
[3:0:0:6] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 /dev/sdg /dev/sg8
[3:0:0:7] disk HP LOGICAL VOLUME 5.42 - /dev/sg9

Environment
