tcsh does not allow periods in environment variable names
Issue
- tcsh-6.17 gives an error when trying to set an environment variable with a period (or dot) in the name
- tcsh-6.14 worked fine
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
- tcsh-6.14-*
- tcsh-6.17-* (RHEL6 behavior change started in change from tcsh-6.17-12.el6 to tcsh-6.17-14.el6, RHEL6.1 -> 6.2)
